At the heart of Draconia lies the decaying land of Grovik, a kingdom once steeped in blood and darkness. Its history is written in the ruins of a thousand-year-old war—an era when Grovik was the nightmare kingdom, ruled by Trevalion. As the greater populace of Draconia quaked under his reign, Trevalion’s vampires lived in luxury, their strength unmatched. But during the Great War of Light and Darkness, where men and monsters clashed for control of the realm, Trevalion met his demise at the hands of Elric Valhirden and Davidross Velorean. With his fall, his kingdom was shattered, and the once proud land lay in ruins.
Yet, unlike the scattered remnants of Trevalion's followers, Davidross did not flee. He remained behind in the rubble, where he planted his flag in the ashes of Trevalion’s empire. It was here that Davidross, already bound by the curse of immortality, witnessed the death of his true undying form and the birth of his legacy—the half-dead. The kingdom of Grovik became a place of survival, a monument to the trials and triumphs of those who refuse to die.
Grovik is a land of scars and echoes, a bleak and war-torn kingdom that clings to life amidst the devastation. The city streets, once gleaming with wealth, are now muddied and littered with the remnants of fallen nobility. Yet amid the destruction, hope stirs. The people of Grovik, the Bloodscorned, are survivors. Once bound to the Black Vineyards, they are cursed to live as half-living beings, caught between life and death. They are not true undead—they age, they breed, and they die—but never by the hands of time. Blessed with the Dark Gifts of Mortificus, they have a power that allows them to endure, to transform, and to resist death.
The Bloodscorned live with a duality—there is a simmering pride beneath the shame they carry. Once dismissed as the cursed pariahs, they now stand as a people defined by their will to survive, even in a world that has cast them aside. The towering, broken castles and rusted iron gates of Grovik stand as reminders of the cruelty of time, yet they also reflect the Bloodscorned’s determination to rebuild, to endure, and to reclaim what was lost.
Classes of the Bloodscorned:
Bloodmages: Masters of forbidden arts, the Bloodmages harness the power of their own vitae to fuel dark rituals, curses, and spells. They manipulate the very essence of life, using blood as both weapon and conduit for power. Whether casting curses to weaken their enemies or conjuring dark creatures from the abyss, Bloodmages are feared for their mastery over life and death. Their art is as much about control as it is about destruction.
Bloodcriers: The Bloodcriers are the warlords and the heralds of the Bloodscorned. They channel the power of their bloodlines through their Crier’s Cry—an overwhelming wail that resonates through the very fabric of existence. This cry can shatter minds and break bones. The Bloodcriers are the backbone of the Bloodscorned’s might, leading their forces into battle and heralding doom for those who dare stand against them. The Bloodcriers possess an uncanny ability to blend into the mists, making them the perfect stealth troops as well—vanishing into the night air without a trace.
Red Alchemists: Alchemists of a darker stripe, the Red Alchemists delve into the forbidden sciences of blood and flesh. They craft potions, elixirs, and even weapons from the very essence of the Bloodscorned’s dark magic. Their experiments can create anything from enhanced warriors to monstrous abominations, all driven by the power of blood. The Red Alchemists are feared not only for their knowledge but for the twisted creations they unleash upon the world.
Stoneformed Gargoyles: The Stoneformed Gargoyles are the monstrous creations of the Bloodscorned—a breed of humanoid creatures with skin like stone and a heart of molten fury. These gargoyles were molded from stone and the souls of fallen humans, but through dark alchemical rituals, they have been transformed into living statues. Though they possess incredible strength and durability, they are also bound to the will of the Bloodscorned, driven to protect their creators with their very existence. Silent, deadly, and nearly indestructible, they are the perfect guardians for the fallen kingdom.
