Far to the west, nestled deep within the Black Forest, stands a mountain so colossal it seems to pierce the heavens themselves. Known as the Blue Mountain, its towering peak blots out the clouds and even obscures the moon's light, casting an eerie shadow upon the lands below. Carved into the heart of this mountain, like a dark gothic ulcer, is Castle Corvin, the seat of power for the Nightwalkers.
Once the domain of Erolas VanWick, the original Vampire King, Castle Corvin was meant to be a sanctuary from the turmoil of the outside world. After the fall of Trevalion, the castle was rebuilt as a monument to all that had been lost, a fortress high above the world where its inhabitants could keep a watchful eye on anyone who might threaten their peace. Now, it serves as the home of Elias Amore Corvin, the successor of Erolas, and his people—the Nightwalkers.
The castle is not just home to vampires, but to a variety of creatures, most notably the Wolven, massive beastmen, also known as Thal. These towering humanoids bear a striking resemblance to wolves, their fur shimmering in the light of the moon and the mountain itself, ranging from deep blues and grays to pure whites. The Wolven, under the leadership of Becket Wallow, have sworn loyalty to Elias, becoming fierce guardians of the Black Forest and the fortress within the Blue Mountain. They ensure that the peace within the Nightwalkers’ realm remains undisturbed, their primal strength protecting the kingdom from outside forces.
Despite their power, the Nightwalkers are not known for their politicking or intellectual pursuits. In fact, they’re a rowdy, carefree bunch, more interested in revelry and brawls than any formal debates or power struggles. While they may lack in wisdom, they more than make up for it with their sheer ferocity, their brutal strength, and their ability to turn any tavern into a battleground. Led by Elias, the Nightwalkers’ strength lies in their loyalty, their unrelenting nature, and their raw, primal power.
Classes of the Nightwalkers:
Arcane Witches: The Arcane Witches of the Nightwalkers are mysterious and formidable magic users who blend dark magic with elemental forces. They wield the powers of the forest, the moon, and the shadows, drawing their strength from the ancient magic that courses through the Blue Mountain. These witches are as cunning as they are powerful, able to weave spells that manipulate minds, summon creatures, and control the very elements around them. They are both revered and feared for their ability to bend the world to their will.
Nightwraths: Clad in blue hooded shrouds and wielding silver blades, the Nightwraths are the silent and deadly assassins of the Nightwalkers. These enigmatic warriors move through the darkness with lethal precision, striking from the shadows before their enemies even know they are there. Their silver blades are infused with magic, allowing them to cut through the strongest defenses and drain the life force of those they strike. They are the enforcers of Elias’ will, executing his commands with ruthless efficiency.
Fallen Rangers: The Fallen Rangers are the skilled scouts, hunters, and archers of the Nightwalkers. Once noble warriors, they have now fallen into the ranks of the Nightwalkers, where they serve as eyes and ears in the wilderness and the frontlines of battle. Their mastery of the bow and tracking makes them deadly hunters, able to pick off enemies from afar or set traps that ensnare their prey. They are often dispatched to carry out covert missions, spying on enemies or eliminating threats from the shadows.
The Wolven: The Wolven are the heart of the Nightwalkers’ strength. These towering, wolf-like beasts possess immense physical power, heightened senses, and an unparalleled loyalty to their king. Their fur, tinged with the eerie glow of the Blue Mountain, allows them to blend into the forest and the shadows, making them exceptional trackers and warriors. Under the leadership of Becket Wallow, the Wolven serve as guardians and protectors of Castle Corvin and the surrounding lands, ensuring that no harm comes to Elias or his people.
